Triumph Motorcycles has announced a new take in the Scrambler 1200 format in the form of the rather exclusive Bond Edition. Just 250 examples of the Bond Edition Scrambler will be produced, with Triumph Motorcycles NZ confirming to On Throttle a limited number will be making their way to our shores.
While pricing and estimated date of availability are yet to be set, Triumph’s recent limited-edition machines such as the Daytona 765 Moto2 have been priced well within the realm of affordability of us mere mortals.
In December, Triumph Motorcycles announced an official partnership with the studio behind the Bond series - EON Productions - revealing that Triumph‘s motorcycles would be featured in the eagerly awaited 25th James Bond Film, No Time To Die which is due for release in November.
As a result of the official collaboration on the latest Bond film, Triumph is set to release the first-ever official motorcycle directly linked to the Bond Franchise complete with the iconic 007 logo as part of a number of limited edition touches.
While Bond has previously utilised 2-wheeled transport, including the polarising BMW R1200C in Tomorrow Never Dies, none have incorporated Bond themes into their design, with the Bond Edition Triumph being the first to directly lean on the Bond name.
Triumph says the special Bond Edition motorcycle was inspired by the custom Scrambler 1200 action vehicles featured in No Time To Die and has all of the top-specification Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE’s performance and capability, together with premium higher-value details.
In addition to the Bond logos tastefully applied to the bike in select locations (including on the TFT display's startup screen) and numbered top yolk plaque, each Bond Edition Scrambler 1200 also comes with special machined parts, carbon fibre tipped Arrow exhaust silencers and a premium genuine leather seat with Bond Edition embroidery.
All of this comes on top of a whole host of beautiful blacked-out features, including premium black anodized rear mudguard, grab rail and sump guard, black forks, high-value engine badges with gold accents, black powder-coated swingarm and sprocket cover.
Each bike is also delivered with a special Bond Edition handover pack which includes a signed letter from Triumph Motorcycles CEO Nick Bloor and a premium rucksack.
Triumph are no strangers to their bikes starring on the silver screen. Most famously the Speed Triple featured in Mission Impossible 2 starring Tom Cruise, while the last air-cooled Scrambler 900 featured in the Jurassic Park reboot Jurassic World. More recently the Speed Triple joined forces with Idris Elba in Hobbes & Shaw.
