Triumph Motorcycles are no strangers to releasing special edition versions of their bikes, with the latest example a timeless collaboration with high-end watchmaker Breitling.
Just 270 examples of the Triumph Speed Twin Breitling are set to roll off the Triumph Production line with Triumph Motorcycles New Zealand confirmed just one is set to make its way to New Zealand with an as yet unconfirmed price.
At the same time, watchmaker Breitling is releasing two Top Time Triumph chronographs. One of the watches is exclusively reserved for Speed Twin Breitling Limited Edition owners and is individually numbered to match the edition number of the bike.
The core-collection version of the watch features an opalescent, vertically brushed dial. The owners-only version has a radiant sunray-finished dial. Speed Twin owners who place their watch order with Triumph by August 22, 2022, will have the opportunity to obtain this made-to-order watch engraved with the number of their bike.

The Breitling edition Speed Twin itself is its own work of art taking inspiration from both the Breitling watches but also a rather iconic Triumph - that being the by the legendary blue Triumph Thunderbird 6T ridden by Marlon Brando in ‘The Wild One’.
Colour matched using a spectrograph to an original 1950’s Triumph factory paint sample book, using a mint condition colour chip of the original Thunderbird paint option. The Polychromatic Blue is a custom mixed colour, hand masked and painted with a matching jet black stripe and Breitling script. This unique limited edition scheme is complemented by exquisite hand-painted detailing applied by lead Triumph paint team artist Gary Devine, and a jet black side panel and headlamp bowl.
Along with the special custom paint, the Breitling Speed Twin also gains a host of special nods to the watchmaker with billet machined aluminium clutch and alternator embellishers plus a perforated black leather seat - all with the Breitling logo included.
The Breitling Speed Twin doesn’t just get a swanky paint job and call it a day, with premium rear shocks coming courtesy of Öhlins while the clocks have also seen a stylish upgrade.
As per Triumph tradition, each of the bikes comes with an individually numbered handlebar clamp and each of them will come with a one-of-a-kind certificate of authenticity, carrying the signature of Triumph Motorcycles’ CEO Nick Bloor and Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling.

This isn't the last special edition Triumph collaboration we are going to see this year either, with Triumph announcing this month that the next release will be a collaboration with iconic guitar maker Gibson. What form that will take is yet to be revealed, but with the theme focussing on 1959, we expect a bike from the modern classic range to be the centrepiece once again.
