Suzuki's Gixxer 150 has again topped the New Zealand sales charts for road registered motorcycles according to industry figures.
Suzuki's 2018 best seller for the road market has again outsold not only its direct competition by a staggering 4:1, but it also outsold much larger machines as well.
According to the numbers for road bikes registered in September, the little GIXXER romped home with 21 registrations compared to just five for the Honda Shadow 150 which is targetted at the same urban market.
The next most popular bike for September was Harley-Davidson's Street 500 bike with 16 units hitting the road, followed by the Royal Enfield Classic and Interceptor models with the Top 5 rounded off by KTM's Duke 390.
In fact, it was another stellar month for LAMS bikes with the only motorcycle to feature in the Top 10 sellers for last month was Yamaha's MT-09 with 9 registrations.
There is one caveat, however, as the numbers given to On Throttle appear to count both the naked and faired versions of the GSX150 as the same bike. If the same logic is applied, the #2 top seller for the month would be Kawasaki's Ninja/Zed 400.
Either way, it's still a market dominated by sales of the cheap and cheerful LAMS motorcycle.
