Crafted in FTN Motion’s Hamilton workshop, the Streetdog80 is the latest evolution of the company’s New Zealand-made urban commuter bike.
Founder Kendall Bristow says all 50 bikes available in the first production run have been reserved ahead of the official launch in February.
“It’s great to see really strong interest in the Streetdog80,” said Bristow.
“With traffic congestion and parking getting worse, more people are looking for fast, fun, and environmentally friendly ways to travel. It’s exciting to see how many people are embracing the Streetdog as a solution.”
The Streetdog80 joins FTN Motion’s earlier model, the Streetdog50, which has been in production since 2021 and is capable of speeds of up to 50kph. FTN Motion has received international praise for its stylish design and practicality in urban commuting.
Customers who reserve a Streetdog80 are able to personalise their bike’s colours and accessories. The configurations have been exclusively revealed to reservation holders, with the public set to get their first look at the official launch event in February.
“We’re really pleased to be launching a new model as the company grows and prepares to expand internationally,” added Bristow.
“The Streetdog80 provides riders with more speed, which ultimately makes getting around town easier and more enjoyable.”
FTN Motion launched in 2020 and has sold more than 180 Streetdogs in New Zealand. The brand is preparing to go international in 2025, with the first production run for Australia starting in April.
