Ducati overnight debuted the sportiest Multistrada to date in the form of the new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak which is set to arrive in dealers between April and June 2022.
Ducati says the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak takes centre-stage for a public of passionate enthusiasts not only as the sportiest Multistrada ever but also as the most powerful model in the segment thanks to its 170hp/125Nm Granturismo V4 engine.
For the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, Ducati has made a number of changes to help boost the performance and agility of the Multistrada platform including the move to lightweight 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminium wheels front and back, revised ergonomics, and chassis revisions.
The V4 Granturismo engine has been optimised to intensify the characteristics of the bike and features some innovations compared to previous Multistrada models. Top of the list is the introduction of a Race Riding Mode, a first for Multistrada models.
The Race option is added to a more racing strategy for the limiter, which intervenes more gradually than in the Multistrada V4, in order to alert the biker in advance and allow him a more effective sporty drive in terms of gear changes within the high area of the rev counter.
The quickshifter also has a dedicated strategy that allows extremely aggressive downshifts, as well as the implementation of an even more direct throttle response in the bike's High Power Mode.
In addition to the introduction of the Race Riding Mode, Ducati Wheelie Control on the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak has an updated strategy that offers even better response and more accurate control during "dynamic riding" – AKA peak hoonage. The ABS Cornering has also been updated.
Ducati ANZ has confirmed the new Multi will be priced in New Zealand for an RRP of $46,495.
